Meals on Wheels of Northampton County is Awarded Exemplary Status as a Magnet Accredited Program by Meals on Wheels Association of America
After completing a rigorous application and site review process by Meals on Wheels Association of America (www.mowaa.org), Meals on Wheels of Northampton County has been awarded Exemplary Status Magnet Accreditation for its outstanding senior nutrition program.
MOWAA Magnet Accreditation uses criteria designed to measure program performance according to a set of universal performance standards. Only four Meals on Wheels organizations within the United States have achieved this highest level of accreditation, with Meals on Wheels of Northampton County being the first in Pennsylvania. The documentation and personal on-site review examined Meals on Wheels of Northampton County’s performance in the following key areas: resource development and management, staffing and human resource management, meals and nutrition services, operations and fiscal management, emergency preparedness, and governance and long range planning.
“We are honored to be recognized as an Exemplary Nutrition Program by Meals on Wheels Association of America,” stated JoAnn Bergeron Nenow, Executive Director of Northampton County Meals on Wheels. “To achieve and maintain national standards of practice helps to insure that we are providing the highest level of service to seniors in need of meal assistance. Our clients, board, volunteers, and donors have reason to celebrate in our success. We remain committed to them, our community, and our mission to always strive to achieve the highest level of integrity, quality, and excellence.”
