Meet the Staff
JoAnn Bergeron Nenow

JoAnn holds a Bachelor of Science in Recreation from Slippery Rock University. She put her degree to work at LARC (now VIA) as Director of Leisure Services and later as Director of Community Development. After fourteen years at LARC, JoAnn served Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, Lehigh Valley Child Care, and ProJeCt of Easton, Inc. in various director-level positions that developed and utilized her skills in fundraising, management and public relations. She brings to the position a depth of experience in fundraising and public relations coupled with her knowledge of the health and human services arena.
A graduate of Leadership Lehigh Valley’s class of 1996, JoAnn is also active in AFP (the Association of Fundraising Professionals), the Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. Executive Women’s Council, and the Kiwanis Club of Palmer Township. She enjoys tennis, fast walking, reading and crafts. JoAnn lives in Palmer Township with her husband, Bill and daughter, Adrienne.
Cindy Hay

Cindy holds a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from Ohio State University.  Before coming to MOW six year ago, Cindy’s diversified experience included managing food service operations for the Wood Company’s Heathcare and Residential Dining Division and holding a management position in the retail accounting department and distribution center for a Women’s Wear catalog including inventory, quality control and bdget preparation. In addition, Cindy spent nine years with the Marriot Corporation Restaurant Division. Her position included working directly for the Executve Vice President and Vice President of Food Operations and Standards in recipe and menu development and the training of management in all aspects of restaurant operations.Â
Cindy and her husband Fred reside in Nazareth.
Jim Waters
Director of Community Outreach & Development jimw@mealsonwheelspa.org
Jim spent the last nine years at St. Luke’s Hospital and Health Network, most recently as Associate Vice President for Planned & Major Gifts. He developed, planned and executed specific programs and assisted in the creation of the communications vehicles that supported those initiatives as well.
At Meals on Wheels, Jim plans to spend a great deal of his time in the development of a planned giving program to help generate gifts toward our endowment. A healthy endowment will help to provide an annual income stream to our operations while providing for our future financial stability during what are expected to be years of tremendous growth.
Jim holds degrees from Cathedral College and St. John’s University. In addition to his tenure at St. Luke’s, he has worked for the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital and LARC (now VIA). Jim is a chapter and national member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Emily Vadasz

Emily has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Moravian College. Prior to coming to Meals on Wheels, she worked at the Moravian Book Shop for 16 years. For the last of those 6 years she was the assistant manager. In that position she was responsible for all phases of personnel management including hiring, training and supervising the staff.
Emily and her husband, Tom reside in Bethlehem.
